The price of a prescription drug is rising, especially as the generic versions of prescription drugs become more widely available. The price of a drug that a person might buy is rising, too. A pharmacy may have to close its business to make room for generic medications that are not available through the market.
When the generic version of Nexium (esomeprazole magnesium) is introduced into the market, it costs $11 to $15 for a 30-day supply. However, that same drug, in its generic form, costs $5.99 to $7.99 for the same number of pills. The same number of pills could be used to fill in the prescription drug discount card, but the card is less than half the $10 you’ll pay for a 30-day supply of generic drugs.
In some cases, drugmakers may not be able to afford their medications at all. The following are some examples of drugs that are available through the prescription drug discount card:
If you have tried Nexium and were told to take the drug off the market, you may be eligible to get the generic version of the drug. Many pharmacies, however, don’t offer generic medication for this purpose. Instead, they offer to sell a brand-name drug that can be bought over the counter (OTC) without going through the pharmaceutical market.
If you’ve tried Nexium and you’re told you need the generic version of the drug, you may be able to get a 90-day supply of the drug. You can do this at a pharmacy.
This is because the generic version of the drug is much cheaper than the brand-name drug. However, the same generic drugs are available through the prescription drug discount card.
The pharmacy offers a 90-day supply of the drug for $13.99 or $30.99 for the same number of pills. They may also offer a 90-day supply of generic drugs for $7.99 or $20.99.
Some pharmacies offer discounts on prescription drugs. For example, a generic drug manufacturer can sell you a 90-day supply of the drug for $13.99, or $30.99, depending on the amount of the discount card you use. You’ll also get a 90-day supply of the drug for $7.99, or $20.99, depending on the amount of the discount card you use.

The following are some examples of pharmacies offering the same 90-day supply of a generic drug. Most of the pharmacies are licensed to sell the drug as a generic, and most of the pharmacies are in the United States. However, there are some medications that are not available through the prescription drug discount card.
